So, was Amazon right to roll the dice on The Legend of Vox Machina season two? Here’s everything you need to know. "Teaming with Prime Video to deliver the series to fans across the globe is exciting and surreal - and we’re psyched to be able to tell even more stories with not just one, but two 12-episode seasons!" "We were absolutely floored by the level of enthusiasm we received on the Kickstarter campaign, and now we can deliver exactly what the fans wanted, and more," Critical Role’s Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham said in a joint statement. The Legend of Vox Machina was given a massive vote of confidence by Amazon and has already been greenlit for a second season before the first dozen episodes even arrived. “We’re thrilled to work with the whole team to bring The Legend of Vox Machina, and new Critical Role series, to our Prime Video customers." " Critical Role blazed a new trail for original digital content, with fresh new voices and humor that earned devoted fans around the world, as evidenced by their wildly successful Kickstarter campaign,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios (via Variety). The first season was funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, with Amazon ordering fourteen more episodes when they decided to air the first ten (expanding season one to twelve episodes, with the same scheduled for season two). Episodes air at 7pm PT / 10pm ET / 2am GMT (that last time pushing into the following Friday morning). The returning cast plays all-new characters and features the continent of Wildemount as its primary setting. It takes place beginning in Sydenstar, 835 P.D., approximately twenty years after the adventures of Vox Machina. New episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina air every Friday in batches of three exclusively on Prime Video. Campaign Two is the second campaign of Critical Role. The Legend of Vox Machina season two was confirmed as soon as Amazon picked up season one. The first episode of Critical Role campaign 3 airs on October 21. The Mighty Nein animated series does not yet have a release date.

Scrape batter into the bundt pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle coconut flakes to the bottom of the pan. If you do not have a non stick pan, be sure to grease your pan and dust with flour! Add in 1/4 cup of sugar to the bottom of pan and about 3 inches up the sides, tapping the pan to ensure even distribution. Drizzle glaze over the crunchy top portion of cake. (this step is very important otherwise your cake will continue to bake and will become very dry and completely stuck in the pan). Use a knife to scrape the sides if cake becomes stuck. Let cake cool for about 10 minutes, then carefully remove from pan, making sure that the sugary coconut side is faced upward. Bake for about 50 minutes to an hour or until a wooden skewer inserted comes out clean (if it comes out wet, bake another 10 minutes or so, if it comes out crumbly, you over baked the cake). How do I ensure that packages/scripts that need Python 3 have access to it without making changes to the macOS Python as per advice on another thread?.I take it that ports can be updated via sudo port upgrade outdated but will this upgrade Python 3.7 to 3.8/further versions when they are released? (As an aside, I see that Python is at version 3.8 but has not even been updated on Homebrew because of some issues ).Is installing Python on MacPorts as simple as running sudo port install python37?.I remember having to jump through a lot of hoops when Python 2 reached EOL and having to symlink things etc., which I gather is not the best idea. I would be very grateful if you could expand on how it is that you have Python set up on your system. but am able to find my way around the few packages that I rely on. I am a noob when it comes to scripting etc. After some further research (mainly Saagar Jha’s excellent article and the discussion about it) I am thinking of using MacPorts instead of Homebrew. That's all I've had time to install so far.Hi I am going to nuke and pave my Mac soon and was intrigued by your comment to checkout MacPorts. Double Command works, Quicksilver is fine (though the Blacktree site seems to be down for some reason), BBEdit is fine, Firefox hasn't had any issues and Transmission is working great. MySQL seems a bit buggy, but is working – prone to crashing though. Anyway, I can say that Mars Edit 2.0 works without issue, Photoshop CS3 appears to be fine, though I haven't used it extensively. [ Another Update: For those wondering about specific applications, I haven't had any problems with anything, though obviously it's only been two days so I can't say for sure. Stacks seem to come at the expense of nested folder browsing from the Dock, which I suspect is going to make some people rather unhappy. Leopard ships with Safari 3, which looked nice and did a fine job of downloading Firefox. I used the tip we posted yesterday to get the dock back to its normal self I'm all for eye candy, but that one just doesn't work for me. The glass dock was the first thing to go. But otherwise, things have gone quite swimmingly. And I can't find a way to make Quick Look remember the size of previews. I just dragged over my documents and music folders (about 120 GB) from my backup drive and typing this in Mars Edit puts my fingers about twenty letters ahead of what's actually showing on the screen. Gotchas: Spotlight still slows your Mac to a crawl as it goes through and indexes files. I'll post more gems as I come across them. The dialog box now includes the original URL, as well as date and time downloaded, which is nice for reference. When you download and install a new app, the first time it launches you'll be asked to OK it. Hidden Gems: Haven't had time to find them all of course, but I like that there's a new option to turn off the Finder warning about changing file extensions, and coders will be happy to see that Leopard ships with Python 2.5, Ruby 1.8 and Perl 5.8, which is much more up-to-date than previous installs. Speaking of which, I hope someone figures out a way to leverage Quick View through Quicksilver. But I'm a Quicksilver junkie, so I don't spend too much time in the Finder. The icons are more subdued, especially the folders, which I'm not too fond of. Just browsing my backup of Tiger trying to decide what I need to copy and I'm already addicted to Quick Look – very useful. Quick first impressions: Leopard looks very nice. He does require a lot of stats to perform at the highest level, so do be prepared to spend some time to gear him. Once he is able to kill 1 unit, he can snowball really hard since he gains an extra turn after a kill. He also can defense break on his S1, giving him more utility. Units like Sinful Angelica or Yuna will improve his DPS in team play. His single target damage goes up with speed buff and attack buff. He is one of the first units to have elemental advantage on fire units, as long as he has a speed buff. Although now it is harder to cleave in higher PvP battles, he still offers the very useful speed imprint alongside good damage. When the game first came out, he was a really popular single target attacker in the speed cleave meta. However, if you are a new players, speed is probably the hardest stat to get without giving up damage. Ideally if you can get her to 180+ speed with the above stats would be really good. Her own artifact Secret Art Sword Storm is the best to get a free attack buff when enemy uses a non-attack skill. She also has life steal and evasion buff on her S3, improving her survivability just a bit. Her passive cleanses any debuffs immediately, including stuns. If you cannot outspeed the enemy, she will be good in that role. She can snipe enemy attackers if you have her exclusive equipment that targets the unit with the highest attack. Think about problem units like Angel of Light Angelica, Summertime Iseria, Peira, Conqueror Lilias and so on. CelineĬeline is good at dealing with teams that rely on non-attack skills. For a 3 star unit, I would highly recommend it. If you cannot get speed to more than 200, then a combat readiness pusher is required. In terms of stats, you are going to aim for something like this to make him extremely self sufficient to use without an attack buffer or CR pusher: Good artifacts for him include Symbol of Unity, Sasha’s Ithanes and Exorcist’s Tonfa. He can then follow up with S2 nuke (gives +15% hit chance) with soul burn, which provides extinction and is great for dealing with problem units like Arbiter Vildred, ice attackers or any revive teams. His S3 gives him an extra turn + a greater attack buff. He is only a 3 star, but because of the specialty change, he now gains critical hit rate buff on his S3, making him very easy to gear. Other good options are El’s Fist and Merciless Glutton. All in all, she helps regular players without access to many strong ML units. The key artifact here would be Uberious Tooth, as the extra attack bypasses ML Celine’s passive. However, a very well geared Hwayoung can still get through it easily with soul burn. She can delete most of the problem units like A.Ravi, Belian, ML Celine and Violet easily, as long as they are not behind Aurius and a thick shield. This will grant her max bonus damage.Ī low speed Hwayoung is okay if you don’t have the speed gear for it. Having her at 10k-13k hp is ideal as most tanks/bruisers/healers have 20k health or higher. Her S3 ignores 100% defense and deals extra damage based on her health up to a 6667 hp difference. Even misses (deals only 75% damage) can kill units like Violet/Remnant Violet or any non ice tank. Even though she is a fire unit, she can also deal with many ice units due to her kit scaling with only attack. A relatively new banner and Hwayoung is probably one of the most versatile single target attacker. Discuss the hardship the poor widow faced, and what resources might be available to someone in a similar situation now. This story was first written down in the 18th century.Chances are the kids in your class have never heard of this exotic dish, even though we in the United States have a lot in common with our English cousins. The BBC offers a PDF file that shows the very English food, Beans on Toast. “Jack and the Beanstalk” is a traditional English story, and includes the words “I smell the blood of an Englishman!” This could be a very good time to study about England.I’ve put some cross-curricular ideas together for you - you’ll find something for every grade level. Once the story is established, you can carry it beyond reading to the other subject areas. We like to present or retell the story every day during our study, in different ways. Sparklebox has masks to download and cut out, but having kids design their own with paper plates is a creative way to help them think about the characters. Having students make masks and act out the story is another option. Then you might want to use finger puppets for the retelling. Brownielocks has a Fractured Fairytale version. You can find the story online, too, though this version is more challenging. Mary Engelbreit included this story in her Nursery and Fairy Tales Collection. We like Paul Galdone‘s tellings of traditional fairy tales for their balance of faithfulness to the original story and appropriateness for modern children, but Stephen Kellogg and Carol Ottolenghi have both also done wonderful picture books of this story. When we work with older students, who will be familiar with the story, we like to start by having them retell it, and then move on to read and analyze the story and study vocabulary.įor the little ones, read a good picture book first, and then retell the story. With any fairy tale, we have a great opportunity for learning and retelling a story, for sequencing events in the story to recognize the beginning, middle, and end, and for analyzing narrative structure. In the original story, the giant falls and dies, but picture book retellings often leave this out. Jack makes off with the giant’s treasures, barely escapes with his life, and chops down the beanstalk before the giant can climb down. The beans grow into a gigantic beanstalk, which leads Jack to the home of a giant. The basic story here is of Jack, the son of a poor widow, who trades the cow that is their last valuable possession for a handful of magic beans. One fairy tale that’s well suited to multiple grade levels is Jack and the Beanstalk. They are a good example of a literary form, great for studying story elements, and always bring up interesting character points. Like I said, this is one of my favorite units to teach and I have an entire unit that has these fairy tale elements in as well as activities (like the Goldilocks re-telling) for many of the stories that you would read during a fairy tale unit.Folk and fairy tales are suggested in our state frameworks for students from kindergarten through middle school. Then, the students sit together on the carpet and practice re-telling the story and listening to each other. We practice using story telling words and we put the pictures in baggies for each student. I read the story and then we do a re-tell of the story using pictures. When I start Fairy Tales, the first story I read is Goldilocks because that is typically the story that all the kids are the most familiar with. I’m planning on having a pre-k poetry unit done sometime soon! Here’s a copy of the poem that we used and my kids always highlight their sight words and if they have time, I let them color it. Since I’m doing TK this year, I’ve gone back and redone a lot of the poems to make them more appropriate for my TK kiddos. This is just a shorter version of the Kindergarten poem that I already have in my poetry unit. Since Fairy Tales are familiar stories, students are able to think of stories that they’ve read before that fit some of the Fairy Tale elements. We started out by learning about the elements of a Fairy Tale. This week is one my favorite weeks in Kindergarten! It’s Fairy Tale week! The cinematics are the single aspect that will play an important part of their joy. But, I have to warn the fans of the original Privateer, about this: you will surely be disappointed by this sequel, because of the expectations that most of you are having. I was impressed by the space engine, and by the smooth and fast gameplay. The graphics and the interface will seem for most of you mediocre and lumbering, but they were acceptable in that time. Everytime you land on a planet, the cinematics appear, that enchant you with a well-done acting. Keep in mind that you don't have the option to save your progress unless you finish the missions correctly or escape safely. Also, your objectives require space combats and attacking enemies. Lev's journey implies meeting new and strange characters, visiting various planets, rescuing people. This can be regarded as a cliche, but actually, the story will surprise you in the end. You play as Lev Arris, who goes to make researches concerning his identity, after he had a spaceship accident. The actors in this game are making the cinematics awesome, and they are: Clive Owen (who is one of my favorite actors), Mathilda May, John Hurt, Christopher Walken, Brian Blessed and Amanda Pays. That is wicked kind of hardcore dexterity, right there, yo.Privateer 2: the Darkening, the sequel to Privateer, is a science-fiction action simulator game released in 1996 by Electronic Arts. Christ, how anyone could play WC1/2/Priv without a joystick is beyond me. Privateer is arcade, that much is for certain. However, the vast majority of cutscenes were painful. And yes, the gameplay of prophecy was xcellent. Prophecy got away from the simulator, and back into the arcade. Those afterburner slides (I forget what they're called, but there's a specific name for them in the WC series) had a different feel to them in WC3/4, but they worked just like they did in WC1/2. It was just a tiny bit awkward at first, having played through the first two games, but it was done well enough that the game was completely playable *and* enjoyable with the "sim" aspect. It was different, and the different really worked out well. Wing Commander 3 and 4 tried out the simulator stuff, and I think it actually was quite excellent. WC1 wasn't a "simulator" it was an "arcade". Prophecy turned the series back around to WC1. Well, in 2004 it looks good enough for me. The gamespot review justifies the purchase of a 3D videocard (we are talking 1997) by stating that WC Prophecy is one of the best looking games ever. The graphics are still nice today, but they must have been totally awesome back then. Last year I downloaded the demo for WC Prophecy (which is slightly newer, the fifth in the series) and it completely blew me away. Can't say for sure, but this rings a bell. Damned if I can remember how it was done though, sorry.ĮDIT: Maybe it was to hold ctrl and use the + and - keys to speed up and slow down. I found this out after going from a 386 to a 486. The old, pre-pentium games ran like they were on chrystal meth, but there was a way to adjust the speed the game ran, in game. I have Privateer 2, but never could get it to work on my PC. Prophecy was OK, great gameplay, but the (over)acting was pretty lousy.įun fact: Ginger Lynn Allen, the girl who played Rachel Coriolis (the mechanic chick) in WC3 and WC:P is a porn star with over 250 films on her resume. Kinda silly that the game had much better acting and star-power than the movie made from it. Malcom McDowell (Alex DeLarge in Clockwork Orange) as the off-his-rocker Admiral, Tom Wilson (Biff in Back to the Future) as Maniac, John Rhys-Davies (of Indiana Jones and LotR fame), and none other than Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill. As well as the occasional humor - maybe not the best writing we've read/heard in the Portal universe but I still found it amusing. And even though the game is relatively easy, it still takes a bit of time and tinkering to figure out stuff sometimes and that makes it really fun. Local Players: 1 Player Online Players: No Online Multiplayer Release Data Description Prepare for the ultimate mashup experience Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead combines the legendary. Music is very good, even though not varied enough. Now for the good: The visual style is pretty good and it performs well (even on my low-powered Intel HD Graphics, it ran at relatively smooth 20-60 FPS in full HD - depending on how complex the bridge constructions are and whatnot). One would think that with all their development experience, they would know better by now. And for some reason, achievements don't unlock immediately but when you return to the main menu. When you jump to specific levels from the main menu, there is no preview of the level layout. You can't simply select, move and delete things like you would expect based on any other application that you control with a mouse (be it real time strategy games, graphics applications, etc.). It's relatively easy (I felt that only maybe 2-3 out of those 60 levels were a true challenge) and even though the UI was improved a LOT over the original Bridge Constructor, it still ****. The bad upfront: For some reason, no leaderboards, even though the game clearly tracks stats. |
